The tour to Germany was packed with activities every day. After landing in Munich we went on a walking tour of the city with very informative tour guide, Ms Sylvia Klein. In the afternoon a few hours was spent shopping in the Olympia Einkaufszentrum and a fair few strikes were hit when we went bowling that night.

Our Saturday was mostly spent in Stuttgart. We went to see the Bundesliga match between VfB Stuttgart and Bayer Leverkusen in the Mercedes Benz Arena (the same stadium where Ray Houghton put the ball in the English net in '88). On our way to the stadium we stopped off in the small village of Waldenbuch to visit the Ritter chocolate museum and shop. That night we ate at a local Wienerwald near our accommodation.

On Sunday morning, bright and early, we visited BMW Welt and the BMW Museum. The boys enjoyed being able to get so close to such beautiful motors. The afternoon was spent at the Skyline theme park. While the weather was a bit nippy it didn't distract the boys from enjoying the rides and not having to queue much was a huge plus. That evening we ate well in an Italian restaurant just off Marienplatz.

The Skyshot was popular with Leo and Tyreke. Imagine a reverse bungee jump!
Berni's Nudelbrett was where we ate well on Sunday evening.
Our last day was Monday. That morning we visited the Dachau concentration camp memorial site. The site is still harrowing to this day and it enabled the boys to witness the horror of the holocaust like no book nor film can. Our final activity in Munich was to visit the Allianz Arena, where Bayern München play. We received a terrific tour of the stadium and the boys bought some Bayern goodies in the megastore. After that we went to the airport for our flight home. For many of the boys it was their first time in Germany and the trip will provide them all with memories that will last a lifetime.
